Journey to Mentorship: Certification from the American STEM Center

I’m happy to share my certification as a mentor from the American STEM Center of World Learning Algeria.

Certification

I had the chance to be mentored by the best specialists in the center and I’m thankful for that. The process of being a student in order to be a teacher is the way that made me understand how valuable mentoring is and how to deal with students in all age categories.

The training experience was immersive and comprehensive. It provided me with insights into modern educational methodologies and strategies, particularly the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) method. Learning the UDL method was transformative. It has equipped me with the skills to create inclusive learning environments that accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey was the opportunity to engage with a diverse group of peers. Sharing experiences, challenges, and successes with fellow trainees enriched my learning process and provided a support network that I will cherish moving forward. The collaboration and exchange of ideas were instrumental in shaping my approach to mentoring.

I also had the privilege of observing and participating in various STEM-related projects and activities. This hands-on experience was invaluable in understanding how theoretical concepts are applied in real-world scenarios. It allowed me to see the impact of STEM education on students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Moreover, the mentorship program emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptability. As a mentor, it is crucial to stay updated with the latest developments in STEM fields and educational practices. This mindset of lifelong learning is something I aim to instill in my future mentees.

Finally, a special thank you to the U.S. Embassy, Boeing, and Dow for sponsoring these programs that are helping us in our personal and professional development. Their support underscores the importance of investing in education and mentorship to foster future leaders and innovators. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Leah Bitat for her generosity and kindness, which I personally see as a role model.

I am eager to apply what I have learned and make a positive impact as a mentor. The skills and knowledge I have gained from this certification program have prepared me to guide and inspire the next generation of STEM enthusiasts. Stay tuned for updates on my mentoring journey and upcoming projects!
