Financial Literacy Training at the Higher Institute of Sciences
Financial Literacy Training at the Higher Institute of Sciences
I’m excited to share my experience from two years ago when I conducted a financial literacy training at the Higher Institute of Sciences (HIS), Algeria’s first private university. The opportunity to mentor at such a prestigious and disciplined institute was a true honor. Seeing the potential and commitment within this institution reaffirmed my belief that Algeria is on the right path toward establishing a robust and exemplary education system.
This training program was sponsored by World Learning Algeria and the British bank HSBC. Their support made it possible for us to reach a diverse group of students and equip them with essential financial skills.
Leading this training was a deeply rewarding experience. The group consisted of 40 bright and enthusiastic individuals who demonstrated a remarkable level of positivity and active engagement. Their dedication to learning, sharing, and supporting each other created a dynamic and collaborative environment. It was inspiring to see them practice active listening, exchange ideas, and care for one another as they embarked on their journey to financial literacy.
The curriculum covered a wide range of topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, and financial planning. We explored practical strategies for managing personal finances, understanding credit, and making informed financial decisions. The students were eager to learn and quick to apply these concepts to real-life scenarios, which was incredibly gratifying to witness.
One of the most memorable aspects of this training was the mutual learning experience. While I shared my knowledge and insights, I also learned a great deal from the participants. Their questions, perspectives, and enthusiasm provided valuable insights into the diverse financial challenges and opportunities they face. This exchange of knowledge and experiences is where the true magic of mentoring happens, fostering a sense of community and building lasting connections.
I am grateful for the support and sponsorship of World Learning Algeria and HSBC. Their commitment to education and personal development is making a significant impact on the lives of many. A special thank you to the Higher Institute of Sciences for hosting this training and providing a conducive environment for learning and growth.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the future opportunities to mentor and empower more individuals through financial literacy education. Stay tuned for more updates on my journey and upcoming projects. Together, we can continue to build a brighter and more financially literate future for all.
Stay inspired and keep learning!
